Naming a beneficiary is an important step in protecting your savings. A beneficiary designation ensures that your Health Savings Account (HSA) funds are distributed according to your wishes in the event of your passing and helps prevent delays or unintended outcomes for your loved ones.
Why Beneficiary Designation Matters
Your HSA does not automatically assign a default beneficiary. Without one on file, your funds may not be distributed according to your preferences.
We encourage you to take a few minutes to add or review your beneficiary designation to ensure your account is set up as intended.
How to Add or Update Your Beneficiary
You can manage your beneficiary designation using one of the following methods:
Option 1: Online Through ThrivePass
Log in to your ThrivePass HSA account and follow these steps:
- Select Your Benefits, then Personal Dashboard
- Open the Menu and choose My Accounts
- Click Benefit Account Summary
- Select View Beneficiaries
- Follow the prompts to add or review your beneficiaries
Option 2: Submit a Paper Form
If you prefer a manual process:
- Complete the Beneficiary Designation Form
- Submit the form according to the instructions provided with the document
Protect Your Savings
Keeping your beneficiary designation up to date helps ensure your HSA funds are handled according to your wishes and provides peace of mind for you and your loved ones.
