Why Is My Bank Account Showing Different Numbers After Linking Through Plaid?

Modified on Wed, Sep 2 at 9:14 AM

If you've linked your bank account using Plaid and notice that the account number displayed in your ThrivePass settings does not match your actual bank account number, there's no need to worry.

Why Does This Happen?

For security and privacy purposes, Plaid does not share your actual bank account number with ThrivePass. Instead, Plaid provides a secure, tokenized version of your account information. As a result, the last four digits displayed in your ThrivePass account may be different from the last four digits of your real bank account.

This is an expected behavior and does not mean your account was linked incorrectly.

Is My Account Still Connected Correctly?

Yes. Even though the account number shown in ThrivePass may look different, the connection is still linked to the correct bank account you selected during the Plaid verification process.

As long as your bank account was successfully connected through Plaid, your reimbursements and transactions will be directed to the account you chose during setup.

About Plaid

Plaid is a trusted financial technology provider used by thousands of companies to securely connect bank accounts without requiring organizations like ThrivePass to store sensitive banking information.

Benefits of linking through Plaid include:

  • Enhanced security through encrypted connections
  • Faster account verification
  • Reduced risk of entering incorrect banking information
  • Protection of your actual account and routing numbers

Still Concerned?

If you believe the wrong bank account was connected, or if you're unsure which account was selected during the linking process, please contact the ThrivePass Support Team. We can help verify that your bank connection is active and guide you through reconnecting your account if needed.

Important: Seeing different account digits after linking through Plaid is normal and expected. The masked or randomized account identifier shown in ThrivePass is a security feature designed to protect your banking information.
